Plan a winter break around Poole Old Town rather than a packed summer timetable. The Mariners gives your group a kitchen, two lounges and four bedrooms for up to eight guests.
Make a winter plan that works indoors too
Spend time around Old Town, browse the shops or check Poole Museum’s current opening information. Book a meal nearby or choose a show at Lighthouse if its programme suits your dates. Seasonal boat trips and outdoor activities may run less often or depend on weather. Confirm what is open before building your whole break around one attraction.
Keep room for a slow evening
A whole-house stay lets different members of the group choose their own pace. Cook supper, gather around the dining table or relax in the basement snug while others use the main lounge. The courtyard remains an outdoor space rather than an all-weather facility. The central location can still be lively at weekends, even outside summer.
Understand the winter rate
September–April stays start from £275 per night for the house, with £160 cleaning and laundry per booking and a two-night minimum. Christmas, New Year, Easter and bank holidays are quoted separately. Ask for the full price for your dates rather than assuming the starting rate applies to every night. Discounts are available for stays of more than seven nights.
Know the details before you book.
The Mariners is at 24 Market Street, Poole Old Town. Standard beds are two superkings, a double and a bunk bed across four bedrooms. Requests for alternative sleeping arrangements must be agreed in advance and never increase the eight-guest maximum.
Whole-house rates start from £275 per night September–April and £385 per night May–August. July–August Friday and Saturday nights are £595; Christmas, New Year, Easter and bank holidays are quoted separately. Cleaning and laundry are £160 per booking. One dog may stay by prior agreement for £30. Ask about discounts for stays of more than seven nights.
The booking deposit is 25%, with the balance due six weeks before arrival, or full payment for bookings made within six weeks. A separate £300 refundable damage deposit applies. Your full quote, dates, any additional services and cancellation terms must be agreed before payment. An enquiry does not secure dates.
Check-in is from 3pm and checkout by 10am. The house has stairs, one parking space on request and a central location that can be lively. Parties and events are not permitted.
